Rahik the µHustler: Built for Hustling

Assalamualaikum. My name is Rahith Ahsan, but on the track, I go by “Rahik the µHustler.” Rahith is my main name, but I will be changing it to Rahik soon—this is why you see me as Rahith “Rahik” Ahsan.

I was born on September 18, 2005, in Ottawa, Ontario—exactly 16 years after NBA champion Serge Ibaka, who shares the same birthday. Though we come from different sports, we both know what it’s like to face setbacks and still believe that anything is possible. My family moved to Toronto in 2008, and in 2018, at 13 years old, I discovered my love for running.

I had dreams of joining my high school track team, but when the world shut down during the pandemic, that dream was put on hold. Still, I refused to let go. Even without a team or a track, I kept chasing speed, fueled by the athletes who inspired me most: Andre De Grasse, Kenny Bednarek, and Noah Lyles. Watching them dominate the world stage showed me what’s possible when you combine talent with relentless drive.

That’s why I chose sprinting. Sprinting is raw. It’s explosive. It’s about testing limits in seconds, demanding both power and courage. For me, every sprint is more than a race—it’s proof that obstacles can be broken and dreams can be rebuilt stronger.

Alongside athletics, I stayed committed to my education. I attended Forest Manor Public School (2009–2017), Woodbine Junior High School (2017–2019), and Georges Vanier Secondary School (2019–2023). Now, I am set to graduate in 2025, Inshallah, with my Bachelor of Honours in Computer Science from Algoma University. Balancing academics with training taught me discipline, patience, and the value of hard work in every area of life.

In 2025, I officially joined the Blue Devils Track Team, turning years of persistence and self-belief into the next chapter of my journey. What once was just a dream became reality, and now every practice, every rep, and every race brings me closer to the athlete I know I can be.

Outside of sprinting, I stay balanced by doing things that energize my mind and body. In my free time, I like to code, do Zumba, check my emails, and watch tech videos from some of my favourite YouTubers, like Marques Brownlee (MKBHD). These hobbies keep me sharp, creative, and motivated as I continue pushing toward my goals.

I’m not just chasing times; I’m chasing a legacy. My journey is about more than running—it’s about inspiring others to believe in themselves, to rise when life knocks them down, and to fight for their own finish line.

This is only the beginning of my story. And when the gun goes off, know this—I’ll be running not just with speed, but with purpose, Inshallah.
